No Silver Spoon for this princess

Born without a Silver Spoon

Born without a Silver Spoon

TOI Reports:

Neera Chopra [Pooja Chopra's Mother] lived through abuse, poverty and some tough choices to make her once-unwanted girl child, Pooja Chopra, the Pantaloons Femina Miss
India-World she is today.

I don’t know where to begin… they were terrible times. My husband was well-placed, but the marriage had begun to sink almost as soon as it began. Like most women do, I tried to work against all the odds .

My in-laws insisted everything would be alright if I had a son. My first child was a daughter, and that didn’t do me any good… but I couldn’t walk out. I had lost my father, my brother was in a not-so-senior position in Bata. I didn’t want to be a burden on my family and continued to live in my marital home in Kolkata.

Except for the glitz and glamour invovled in beauty paegants, I usually don’t care a hoot about what the contestants say about helping the impoverished across the world (and add to the fact that – most contestants themselves look very malnourished). However this story has forced me to think about girls treating Miss India as an ambition. This princess war born without a silver spoon, her Mother who is deservedly the real Mrs. India went through struggles for no fault of hers, and is a proud Mother today. Though nothing will make her own adult life less miserable – let’s hope the future is as beautiful as it can be.

Special request to the paps (paparazzi) – please go hound the papa of the princess – he is the right kind of blood source for you leeches.
