The worst natural disaster since the tsunami which claimed nearly 300,000 lives (according to some reports). Burma, reels in the aftermath of Cyclone Nargis and the Burmese military-government regime vary of allowing foreign aid inside Burma that could expose it’s authoritarian policy and utter neglect of the poorer sections of the society. Well, you just proved it beyond doubt. A 100,000 dead and many more missing, yet worried about the future of the government regime, rather than the lives of the Burmese people.

The Burmese information minister has mentioned that they will accept aid only from “friendly countries”. How wonderfully diplomatic and intelligent!
“The fear and suspicion of outsiders, especially Westerners, is too ingrained in the minds of the men in green who always have the last word in Burma.” Link.
What kind of a world are we living in? Where a hundred thousand deaths can’t change people, to set aside their differences for a while, and save many more thousands from dying.
Pretty sad what’s going on there.
Sad state of affairs…..How can they even “think” before “allowing” help!
